Dr Emma Vardy
Dr Emma Vardy is an NIHR Clinical Lecturer in Elderly Medicine. She began her medical training at the University of Sheffield before specialising in Geriatrics and was awarded a PhD by the University of Leeds for her research investigating potential biological markers in Alzheimer’s disease.
Dr Vardy joined the Cerebral Function Unit in 2008, where she runs a specialist clinic and is involved in a number of research studies. In collaboration with the Wolfson Molecular Imaging Centre she is carrying out research investigating PET imaging in Alzheimer’s disease. In addition, she is working with Professor David Mann in collaboration with the University of Nottingham in a study of genetic risk factors in Alzheimer’s disease and their relationship to clinical phenotype.
